Sara Barros Araújo is a teacher at the School of Education of Polytechnic Institute of Porto since 2005. She holds a Ph.D in Child Studies (Methodology and Supervision of Early Childhood Education), a MA in Educational Psychology and a graduate degree in Psychology. She is the coordinator of the Master in Early Childhood Education since 2011. For the past 20 years, she has been involved in preservice and in-service education of early childhood teachers. She has also been involved in research projects in the domains of early childhood pedagogy, quality of centre-based education and care for children under-threes and praxeological research. She was the invited Portuguese expert in the transnational project "Seepro-r: Workforce profiles in systems of early childhood education and care in Europe". She is a member of the Scientific Committee and researcher of the Centre for Research and Innovation in Education (inED). She has been collaborating with the European Early Childhood Education Research Association (EECERA) as the Country Coordinator for Portugal and Convenor of the Special Interest Group (SIG) "Birth to Three".
