Motor Pedagogy Laboratory for the Early Ages | ESE-IPVC
Description of the space
The Motor Pedagogy Laboratory for the Early Ages (LPMPI) has an area of 100 m2 and is equipped and adapted for various aspects of child development, learning and motor assessment, as well as for the development of different methodologies and strategies in the field of pedagogy and teaching didactics.
Objectives
The LPMPI is a space dedicated to pedagogical practice, deepening knowledge and research in the field of physical-motor activities in both formal and non-formal educational environments. This laboratory plays a central role in supporting the initial and ongoing training of education professionals (kindergarten teachers and teachers), developing and promoting innovative methodologies and strategies that enhance the quality of teaching, pedagogical interaction and their contexts.
Description of the main equipment
- The laboratory is equipped with materials aimed at promoting and developing physical-motor activities in the early years, including:
- Global motor skills equipment and materials for the development of fundamental motor skills (locomotion, posture and object manipulation)
- Sensory and fine motor stimulation materials for sensory-motor exploration and the development/control of precise movements (fine motor skills)
- Play equipment and games that promote the combination of movement, co-operation, problem-solving and creativity/symbolic play of the child
- Motor coordination assessment instruments (Körperkoordinationstest Für Kinder - KTK; Peabody Developmental Motor Scales-Second Edition- PDMS-2; Test of Gross Motor Development -TGMD-2)
- Morphological and physical fitness assessment instruments
- Observation and analysis resources: Video cameras, lapel microphones and software for recording and evaluating children's motor behaviour, as well as developing techniques for observing and supervising pedagogical intervention and interaction.
