π Title: The forgotten world of coaching masters sport in Portugal: implications for research and practice
π₯ The article explores the role of master (adult) sport in Portugal and its importance for healthy ageing and the lifelong well-being of athletes. Despite its potential, training in master sport remains an under-explored area β and this is what we seek to discuss, reflecting on relevant implications for coaches, researchers and decision-makers.
β οΈ In a context where competitive sport continues to have significant cultural weight, we argue that it can and should be reconciled with the holistic and healthy development of adult athletes.
