Rules_Math (New Rules for Assessing Mathematics in Competencies), dedicado ao desenvolvimento e teste de novas formas de avaliação de competências matemáticas;
MATH-DIGGER (Mathematics Digital Escape Rooms), que explora abordagens inovadoras de aprendizagem baseada em jogos para o ensino da Matemática;

She graduated in Mathematics from the University of Coimbra in 1992, obtained a Master’s degree in Statistics and Operational Research from the University of Lisbon in 1997, and completed a PhD in Mathematics, specialising in Network Optimisation, in 2006 at the University of Aveiro.
She is currently a Coordinator Professor at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Coimbra (ISEC), where she served as Vice-President from 2006 to 2010. She is also the President of the Scientific Area of Mathematics within the Department of Physics and Mathematics at ISEC. Her teaching responsibilities include Statistical Methods in the undergraduate programmes of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics Engineering, as well as Applied Mathematics and Decision Support Methods in the master’s programmes in Electrical Engineering and Physical Asset Management.
At an international level, she is the Chair of the Mathematics Special Interest Group of SEFI - European Society for Engineering Education and co-responsible for the Mathematics Group of SPEE - Portuguese Society for Engineering Education. Her research focuses on applied mathematics, mathematical education in engineering, and innovative pedagogical methodologies, with particular emphasis on digital learning environments, active learning strategies, and the integration of mathematical problem-solving in engineering contexts. She has co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications, including articles in indexed journals and international conference proceedings, contributing significantly to both mathematical research and education reform in STEM fields.
She was the principal investigator and coordinated at IPC/ISEC the following Erasmus+ projects:
Rules_Math (New Rules for Assessing Mathematics in Competencies), where new ways of assessing mathematics competences were developed and tested;
MATH-DIGGER (Mathematics Digital Escape Rooms), which explores innovative game-based learning approaches for teaching mathematics;
GIRLS (Generation for Innovation, Resilience, Leadership, and Sustainability) - The game is on!, an initiative aimed at fostering gender inclusivity, service learning, and empowerment in STEM education.
She is currently the UNIgreen University Alliance local coordinator at the Polytechnic University of Coimbra.
