PhD in Psychology in 2021, funded by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT), with the thesis "(Un)employment in times of uncertainty - professional development and psychological empowerment" at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto, Portugal. This PhD included a mobility experience at the Manchester Metropolitan University and she was awarded a European Doctorate. She is currently conducting Postdoctoral research at the Centre for Research and Innovation in Education (inED) of the Porto Polytechnic School of Education and she is an Invited Adjunct Professor at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. She has managed and implemented several EU funded projects. Through her academic career as a researcher, she has published book chapters and research articles in peer reviewed International Journals and participated in conferences with oral communications and as an invited speaker in the area of vocational and career counselling. She is a psychologist and career counsellor since 2003, working with Higher Education students and graduates. She has a professional specialisation in Clinical and Health Psychology, Education Psychology, and Vocational Psychology and Career Development.
