Sónia Moreira é doutorada em Educação e Desenvolvimento Humano pela Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, USC, Espanha, licenciada em Ciências da Educação pela FPCEUP, Porto e bacharel em Professores do Ensino Básico (1.º Ciclo) pelo ISEC, Lisboa. É Professora Adjunta na Escola Superior de Educação, Instituto Politécnico do Porto na área de Supervisão Pedagógica. É Coordenadora do curso de Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. encontra-se a realizar o Pós-Doutoramento em Ciências da Educação, com especialidade em Prática e Investigação Pedagógica e Didática, na UTAD. Foi Professora do Quadro do Agrupamento de Escolas Escultor António Fernandes de Sá (Vila Nova de Gaia), desde 2006 e lecionou, desde 1995, no Ensino Básico (1.º Ciclo). Professora em mobilidade desde 2018 até 31 de março de 2024, ocupando o lugar de assessora/ representante pedagógica do Centro de Formação e de Associação de Escolas Gaia Nascente no âmbito da Autonomia e Flexibilidade Curricular. Foi Coordenadora do Departamento de 1.º Ciclo, de 2016 a 2018, e exerceu funções de Coordenadora de Estabelecimentos de Ensino entre 2004 e 2016. É Formadora de professores com código de registo CCPFC/RFO- 19207/05 em diferentes áreas e domínios, tendo particular interesse pela Prática e Investigação Pedagógica, Didática Geral e do 1.º Ciclo. É mentora e Coordenadora Nacional do COOPERA- Projeto de intervenção e inovação pedagógica desde outubro de 2016; projeto atualmente integrado Plano de Recuperação das Aprendizagens Escola +21I23, com continuidade no Plano 23I24 Escola+, conforme estipulado na Resolução do Conselho de Ministros n.º 9/2021, de 7 de julho (RCM). Tem como suporte o roteiro “Recuperar incluindo com a Aprendizagem Cooperativa”, integrado na ação específica 1.3.7. “Recuperar incluindo”, do domínio 1.3. + “Recursos Educativos”, do Eixo 1. “Ensinar e Aprender”, do Plano 21/23 Escola+. É Presidente da PACL- Associação Portuguesa de Aprendizagem Cooperativa, desde 13 setembro de 2021. Desenvolve o seu trabalho científico como investigadora integrada no Insite - Piaget Research Center for Ecological Human Development e investigadora colaboradora no LE@D (Laboratório de Educação a Distância e E-Learning), sendo co-orientadora de teses de mestrado. Foi coordenadora da pós-graduação em Supervisão Pedagógica e avaliação em Educação no Instituto Piaget. Galardoada com o 1.º lugar do Global Teacher Prize Portugal 2020 (3.ª edição), prémio internacionalmente considerado como o “nobel da educação”. Fez parte do TOP 50 do prémio do Global Teacher Prize mundial 2021, representando Portugal entre 12.000 participantes. Membro do Global Teachers Ambassadors desde 2021. Os seus interesses atuais centram-se na formação contínua e inicial de professores, na dinamização, coordenação, acompanhamento e monitorização de projetos de inovação pedagógica e educacional baseados em metodologias ativas de ensino e aprendizagem com recurso a tecnologias educativas.

Sónia Moreira has a PhD in Education and Human Development from the University of Santiago de Compostela, USC, Spain, a degree in Education Sciences from FPCEUP, Porto and a bachelor's degree in Primary School Teachers (1st Cycle) from ISEC, Lisbon. She is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Education, Polytechnic Institute of Porto in the area of Pedagogical Supervision. She is the coordinator of the Master's course in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. She is currently doing a Post-Doctorate in Educational Sciences, specialising in Pedagogical Practice and Research and Didactics, at UTAD. She has been a teacher at the Escultor António Fernandes de Sá School Group (Vila Nova de Gaia) since 2006 and has taught primary school (1st cycle) since 1995. She has been a mobile teacher from 2018 until 31 March 2024, occupying the position of pedagogical advisor/representative of the Gaia Nascente Training Centre and School Association within the scope of Autonomy and Curricular Flexibility. She was Coordinator of the 1st Cycle Department from 2016 to 2018, and worked as Coordinator of Educational Establishments between 2004 and 2016. She is a teacher trainer with registration code CCPFC/RFO- 19207/05 in different areas and domains, with a particular interest in Pedagogical Practice and Research, General Didactics and 1st Cycle Didactics. She has been the mentor and National Coordinator of the COOPERA - Pedagogical Intervention and Innovation Project since October 2016; a project that is currently part of the School +21I23 Learning Recovery Plan, with continuity in the 23I24 School+ Plan, as stipulated in Council of Ministers Resolution no. 9/2021, of 7 July (RCM). It is supported by the roadmap ‘Recovering including with Cooperative Learning’, as part of specific action 1.3.7. ‘Recovering including’, of domain 1.3. + ‘Educational Resources’, of Axis 1. ‘Teaching and Learning’ of the 21/23 School+ Plan. She has been President of PACL - Portuguese Association for Cooperative Learning since 13 September 2021. She carries out her scientific work as an integrated researcher at Insite - Piaget Research Centre for Ecological Human Development and as a collaborating researcher at LE@D (Distance Education and E-Learning Laboratory), co-supervising master's theses. She coordinated the postgraduate programme in Pedagogical Supervision and Evaluation in Education at the Piaget Institute. She was awarded 1st place in the Global Teacher Prize Portugal 2020 (3rd edition), a prize internationally regarded as the ‘nobel of education’. She was one of the TOP 50 winners of the Global Teacher Prize 2021, representing Portugal among 12,000 participants. She has been a member of the Global Teachers Ambassadors since 2021. Her current interests centre on the continuous and initial training of teachers, and the promotion, coordination, follow-up and monitoring of pedagogical and educational innovation projects based on active teaching and learning methodologies using educational technologies.
